Vic: Toxic dump hearing deferred following Cardross tragedy
MELBOURNE, Feb 20 AAP - The Victorian government has deferred a preliminary hearing
into a proposed toxic waste dump at Nowingi, in the state's north-west, following the
death of six teenagers in the region.
Planning Minister Rob Hulls said an independent panel's directions hearing into the
proposed facility had been deferred at the request of Mildura Rural City Council.
The hearing was scheduled for 11am (AEDT) today.
The deferral comes as the tight-knit community comes to terms with the deaths of six
