Vic: Son allegedly assaults parents then calls ambulance
A 33-year-old man has allegedly assaulted his parents and threatened them with a knife
in south-western Victoria before calling an ambulance.
Police were called to a farmhouse at Tyrendarra, near Portland, about 7pm (AEDT) after
an argument broke out between the man and his parents.
During the incident, a 55-year-old woman was allegedly pushed and kicked, as was her
65-year-old husband when he rushed to help her.
It's alleged the couple's 33-year-old son then smashed windows in the house, armed
himself with a knife, and started walking around making threats.
Police found the accused in an old house next door after the injured pair were taken
away by ambulance.
It's believed he was person who called the ambulance.
The man will face Portland Magistrates' Court at a date to be fixed.
The injured couple were treated in hospital for bruising and later released.
